Aussie Dealer Online Store
Hi and welcome to my online store. My name is Graham, aka Aussie Dealer (not drug dealer!) and I live in the Perth foothills.
When people buy online, they usually go first to eBay, then maybe Facebook Marketplace. Sellers who run their own online stores usually use a hosted platform such as Shopify, Squarespace, etc.
For the store owner, using those types of systems not only involves crippling fees, but their account can be shut down at any time and often for no sensible reason.
The alternative is to host my own store software, on my own domain name and not be answerable to anyone except myself, which is what I have done. Not only does this give me no ongoing fees, which means cheaper prices for you, but it allows a true one-on-one relationship between me and you.
The main drawback is people have no idea the store exists! So I have to spend more time promoting it, so buyers know how to find it. Like most things in life, there are no perfect solutions.
How it Works
I have designed the store to be as user-friendly as possible. You don’t need to sign up for an account and you can pay by credit or debit card. By default, items are sent via Australia Post with tracking and usually come with free shipping. Express Post is offered as a paid option.
You simply click on the Shop link in the menu above, find an item, follow the prompts and pay using PayPal. You don’t need an account with them, you can choose to checkout as a guest and pay using your card. I never see your card details.
The order details are then sent to both you and to me and I will email you the tracking number within two business days. You can reply to the emails you get if you have any questions.
You then have 14 days from the time Australia Post advises me of delivery, to contact me in case something is wrong with the item.
Item Pricing
The item price shown on the Shop page may seem higher than you would expect at places such as eBay. Take one of my CD’s for instance. Most single CD’s are priced at $9.99 with free shipping. But the shipping is not free for me. Not only do I have to pay for the postage, but also the tracking fee. If you check an eBay listing, you will most likely see their free shipping is “untracked”.
By sending ALL my stock tracked, both you and I know exactly where an item is at any time. You are not left guessing if it has become lost in the mail and I know when it has been delivered. Lost items are a frustration for you and a financial loss for me. We would both lose and I would have to raise prices to cover the loss.
eBay sellers sometimes, but not always, offer tracking as an option to free shipping. So your purchase price then goes up. With my store, the price you see, is the price you pay. You will also find my cost to upgrade to Express Post is much less than what most eBay sellers will charge.
What About Non-Australians
As the banner says, I only sell to buyers who live in Australia. Unfortunately, PayPal will allow you to choose any country it serves. If an order comes through from outside Australia, I will just instantly refund it.
Put simply, purchases from outside Australia will not be accepted and merely wastes your time and causes you unnecessary billing and refunds.
