Linux Keyboard Backlight Control
If pressing the ScrLk key does not light up the board, Linux might be blocking the brightness command to save power. You can force the OS to trigger the backlight through the terminal:
Open your terminal emulator (Ctrl + Alt + T).
Type the following command and press Enter: xset led on
If that does not work, try xset led 3, xset led 2, or xset led 1. Typing xset off should turn backlighting off.
If you want the lights to stay on every time you log in, you can add that xset command to your Linux distribution’s Startup Applications menu.
